I STARTED SEEDS INDOORS AND GOT MY ROLLATOR

I received my Rollator today.  It was mostly put together but did have 3 things I had to put together on it, but they were fast and easy to do.  I practiced using it in my hallway and love it.  It will make a great addition when I want to sit while I garden outdoors this year.  No more dragging chairs from the patio.

I chose the red one to easily see it among the black ones my neighbors have.  It will be easy to spot in a crowd.  Works great and holds up to 300 lbs. so safe for me with lots of weight to spare.

I started some seeds indoors this spring.  I used some drink cups I cut back to about 2 1/2" and filled with potting soil.  I did not have any seed-starting mix but the potting mix did not have any big chunks in it so it worked fine and will feed my seeds for weeks.  If there were any chunks, I could just sift them out.
I did not have a dome to cover them either, but I found this plastic plate cover which I fitted over the tops to keep the moisture in.  It worked.  My seeds have germinated now and are starting to grow.
I chose both garlic and onion chives, bunching onion (also called spring and green onions), and flat-leaf Italian parsley.  Even the parsley that often takes up to 3 weeks to germinate, popped up a couple of heads in a week.  Looking good today.

Good sunny day today so it gives one hope for spring.
Among my latest projects I worked on an old wall hanging, my Yellow Roses in stained-glass style.  I have since layered and pinned it with batting and backing and hope to get some quilting done on it today.  This project has been sitting around in a container for over 2 years.  Its about time I got back to it.

I am trying to only sew or go on my computer in 15-minute sessions.  My neck and shoulders do not ache when I use those limits and I get more done even though I have to rest in between sessions. I even use the clock timer on my phone to keep me on schedule.

There it goes.  I have to say good-bye for now.

TWO DOOR HANGINGS FINISHED TODAY.

I finally finished both door hangings.

This one is "Easter Egger" and measures 15 1/2" by 16" so its the smaller one.

This one is "Easter Gnomes" and measures 17 1/2" by 21 1/2 inches.

Now I can think of making something else.  Right now I think I will rest a couple days before beginning a new project.

We had sunny weather today but cold, its still in the 30s and 40sF here in Southern Maine for now.

Oh yes, I also started some veggie seeds indoors yesterday.  There's both Garlic and Onion Chives, Italian Parsley and Bunching Onions.  I think I mentioned that I ordered my Tomato, Pepper, and English Thyme plants online.  They will arrive started and ready to transplant in my garden mid-May.  I just do not have the room to start many plants and that saves time, energy, and space.  In my little apartment, space is at a premium.

Have a good day my Friends.

Started 'Easter Chicken' Wallhanging

I got my latest wallhanging started today.   I call her "Easter Chicken" because she is sitting on several colorful eggs.

At this point she is stitched in place.  Lots more to do to finish.

Unicorn in Moonlight is Finished.

I finished my latest wall hanging for my front door.  Unicorn in Moonlight measures 17.5 by 19.5 inches.

With my neck and back aching now, I will have to put off starting my next project with gnomes in it for another day.

I am starting a new Food Plan today.  I really want to see if I can lose 10 pounds by the time I see my heart doctor in early April.  I know I cannot give up foods I really love, but I hope I can live with decreasing on everything, from main meals to snacks.  That should work in my favor.

Wish me luck.  I will keep you posted.

"Unicorn" is Pinned

I finally have my Unicorn in Moonlight pinned.  Still have lots to do but I am making some headway.

Today I sketched another Gnome, this time in front of a birch tree trunk home with some colorful eggs beside him.  I think he will have a cute pair of pants.

Have a good day my friends.

I Worked on my 'Unicorn in Moonlight' Today.

It was a nice sunshiny day so I felt good and wanted to sew.  I worked on my Unicorn in Moonlight today.  I got the satin-stitching done and even added a fairy to the piece.  I love my fairies.

Here it is at this point.  Borders come next but that decision is one that concerns me.  Shall I go with turquoise, blue, green, lavender, or maybe even pink.  That's yet to come.

Here's a closer view of the fairy.  I adore my fairies so thought this was a good place to add one.

I have another unicorn drawing done and a couple of gnomes so will also have to decide which to do next.

Have a Happy Valentine's Day everyone.

My Winter Warbler is Finished.

I got another door hanging finished.  Winter Warbler, at 14.5" by 17" is hanging on my front door.  I am happy to see that finished.  I have my Unicorn in Moonlight on the schedule next.

I have also been drawing some Gnomes with different hats and beards and will chose fabrics for the different outfits.  I think they will work well for seasonal figures on my door.  I can run the gamut from spring to Christmas with the Gnomes and choose from many different backgrounds.

With spring around the corner, I will have to slow down my sewing time when I have my raised garden bed to tend.   I need to get going on my several ideas for door hangings this year.
